CHAPTER 01

Getting Started

New to camp? Start here.

What is Campbound?

Campbound is a cozy Minecraft adventure and community server. You build and upgrade your own camp, explore the wilderness, fish, forage, cook, collect things, fill in your Camp Journal and grow at your own pace.

There's no need to rush. Take the scenic route.

Joining Campbound

Campbound is built for Minecraft Java Edition, versions 26.2 and lower.

  1. Open Minecraft Java Edition.
  2. Go to Multiplayer, then choose Add Server.
  3. Paste the server address: play.campgroundmc.net
  4. Save, then join. Welcome to camp!

Your first few minutes

Here's a gentle route to get you going. It's only a suggestion, not a quest you have to follow in order.

  1. Get settled. Have a wander around the starting area and get a feel for Campbound.
  2. Open your Camp Journal. It's one of the main ways you'll keep track of your discoveries and progress.
  3. Create your camp. Every camper can have their own private patch of forest to turn into home. See Your Camp.
  4. Explore. Head out to fish, forage, spot wildlife and critters, gather ingredients and find things for your Journal.
  5. Come home. Back at camp you can build, cook, work on your collections and slowly make your camp your own.

Your Camp Journal

Open it any time with /journal. Your Journal records your discoveries and collections across Campbound, with sections like Fish, Bugs and Wildlife. New entries unlock as you come across them.

Acorns

Acorns are Campbound's main gameplay currency. You earn them by playing around Campbound and spend them on progression and purchases, including upgrades for your camp.

Things you'll discover later

No need to learn it all today. When you're curious, these chapters have the details:

Faces around camp

Campbound has a few friendly regulars who live around camp. Here's who you'll bump into, and where.

  • JoeFISHERMANUsually around the fishing areas

Campbound's resident fisherman and Mireya's other half. If Joe isn't with Mireya, there's a good chance he's somewhere near the water with a fishing rod.

  • MireyaSOCIAL BUTTERFLYWandering around camp, making friends

Campbound's resident social butterfly and Joe's other half. Mireya seems to know everyone around camp, and if she doesn't know you yet, she probably will soon.

  • KamonCAMPFIRE COOKAt the Campfire

Campbound's campfire cook, always ready for another Cookout and something warm by the fire.

  • AnjaliANIMAL LOVERAt the Pet Lodge

A devoted animal lover who helps campers meet, befriend and care for their woodland companions.

  • GarettSALESMANWandering around Campbound

A slightly sketchy salesman who somehow always has the best prices around camp, especially on seeds. Best not to ask where he gets his stock.

  • TaliaTOUR GUIDEGiving tours around Campbound

Campbound's cheerful tour guide, always ready to show new campers around and point out places worth exploring.

  • KyrieCAMP STOREAt the Camp Store

The friendly face behind the Camp Store, keeping the shelves stocked with all sorts of camper goodies.

Camp rules

Please give the server rules a read. You'll find them in-game with /rules.

CHAPTER 02

Your Camp

Your own 120×120 patch of forest.

Every camper gets a personal camp: a 120×120 space to turn into your own campsite. Most of it is yours to shape however you like, with cabins, tents, gardens, paths, treehouses or anything else you can dream up.

The three special areas

Every camp also has three permanent feature areas:

  • Campfire, the heart of your camp
  • Fishing Spot, your own private place to fish (see Fishing)
  • Pet Lodge, a home base for camp companions (see Pets)

Each one has 4 levels and is upgraded on its own, so upgrading your Campfire doesn't change your Fishing Spot or Pet Lodge. When you upgrade, Campbound rebuilds that area for you.

Because Campbound looks after these areas, their blocks are protected. You can't break or place blocks inside them, but you can still use them as normal.

Camp Levels

Earning Camp XP moves your camp up through five Camp Levels. The Camp XP you earn goes to your Contributing Camp, the camp you're currently helping to grow. Each new Camp Level gives your camp more member slots.

Camp LevelCamp XP neededMember slots
Little Camp04
Cozy Camp1,0006
Growing Camp3,0008
Woodland Retreat7,50010
Forest Haven15,00012

The camp owner doesn't count towards the member limit.

Camp Levels are their own progression. Your Campfire, Fishing Spot and Pet Lodge are upgraded separately through their own Levels 1–4, and they aren't unlocked by Camp Level.

Managing your camp

/camp is where you manage everything about your camp. It's organised into:

  • Visit
  • Upgrades
  • Progress
  • Members
  • Explore
  • Customize
  • Settings
  • Invitations
  • Guide
  • My Camps

Camp owners manage their members, invitations and camp permissions from here.

Upgrades are paid for with Acorns, Campbound's main currency.

Camp Themes

Every camp starts with Classic Camp, the free default theme. Six theme packs can be added on top:

  • Mushroom Camp
  • Wildflower Camp
  • Moonlit Camp
  • Autumn Camp
  • Honeybee Camp
  • Teddy Camp
CHAPTER 03

Exploring

Out in the wilderness beyond camp.

Campbound is made for wandering. Leave camp and head into the wilderness to find ingredients, fish, bugs and wildlife, and all sorts of discoveries for your Journal. Everything you find helps your progress at camp.

Wild or at camp?

  • Out in the wild: wild plants to forage and the wilderness fish River Trout, Fresh Salmon and Freshwater Crayfish.
  • At your camp: your Fishing Spot and its camp fish, plus everything you build, grow and cook at home.

CHAPTER 04

Cooking & Recipes

Forage, learn recipes and cook.

Learning recipes

Recipes are learned, not known from the start. Get hold of a recipe book or page and use it to learn its recipe. Once a recipe is learned, you can make it through the normal Minecraft crafting system.

Recipe categories

  • Camper's
  • Forager's Notes
  • Ranger's
  • Creekside
  • Campfire Sweets
  • Camp Drinks
  • Lost Recipes

Foraging

Wild plants grow out in the wilderness (see Exploring). Here's what each one gives you:

Wild HerbsWild Herbs
Fresh MintFresh Mint
Wild OnionWild Onion

Some plants also give you something to plant: Strawberry, Blueberry, Herb, Mint, Onion and Garlic planting materials, and Button Mushroom Spores.

The wilderness fish River Trout, Fresh Salmon and Freshwater Crayfish are cooking ingredients too (see Fishing).

CHAPTER 05

Fishing

Camp fish and wilderness fish.

There are two places to fish: your camp's Fishing Spot and the wilderness. Fishing uses a fishing minigame, with gear such as rods, bait and lures.

Camp fish

Nine fish live at camp Fishing Spots:

  • Trout
  • Tetra
  • Sardine
  • Rainbow Fish
  • Piranha
  • Koi
  • Catfish
  • Betta
  • Angler

Fishing Spot levels

Your Fishing Spot's level decides which camp fish can bite. Upgrade it from Your Camp.

LevelFish that can bite
Level 1Sardine, Tetra and Trout
Level 2To be announced
Level 3To be announced
Level 4The full camp pool, including the rare Piranha and Angler

Wilderness fish

Out in the wild you can catch River Trout, Fresh Salmon and Freshwater Crayfish. These are wilderness fish, not Fishing Spot unlocks, and all three are used in cooking.

Gear

Better rods, bait and other gear make fishing smoother, but only within the fish your Fishing Spot already allows. No gear lets you skip a Fishing Spot level.

Your Fish Journal

The first time you catch a species, it's discovered in your Camp Journal. There are 12 to find: the 9 camp fish and the 3 wilderness fish.

CHAPTER 06

Camp Journal

Your record of everything you find.

Open your Camp Journal any time with /journal. It's your record of discoveries and collection progress across Campbound, and it slowly fills up as you play.

Discovery areas

Questions campers ask

Do I have to follow a set progression route?

No. Go at your own pace and follow whatever you enjoy.

Can I build my own camp?

Yes. Most of your 120×120 camp is yours to build on. The Campfire, Fishing Spot and Pet Lodge are protected upgrade areas.

Why can't I build inside my Campfire, Fishing Spot or Pet Lodge?

They're special areas that Campbound upgrades for you, so their blocks are protected. See Your Camp.

Can better bait let me catch high-level fish early?

No. Fishing gear can't get around your Fishing Spot level. See Fishing.

Does the Camp Pass reset?

No. It's a permanent pass.

Are ranks monthly?

Hedgehog, Squirrel, Capybara and Fox are one-time ranks. Frog is the separate monthly rank. See Ranks & Perks.

Which Minecraft version do I need?

Campbound is built for Minecraft Java Edition, versions 26.2 and lower.
